Rant#1

John McCain, if he meant to or not, has aided and abetted the "dumbing down" of America by choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate. The Republican Party has become so anti-intellectual that this woman who doesn't have a clue what's going on outside of Alaska (or maybe just Wasilla for that matter) is a viable candidate for Vice-President and hence President of the U.S.
So, with that "shoot from the hip" decision, McCain got a slight bump coming out of the convention and won over some of the Religious Right. However, it may be one of those decisions that will have unintended consequences. The "honorable" John McCain has now resorted to character assassination as his campaign withers in the face of the financial crises. And Sarah is the weapon of asinine destruction. As she whips the faithful to a froth at campaign rallies, the faithful seem to be getting vengeful. With shouts of "traitor" or "kill him" or "off with his head" this is getting way out of control.
Sarah, aren't you married to a secessionist? Where does that bump the needle on the Patriot Meter?
